Awesome
My 7 year old daughter creating math homework for her 9 year old brother, complete with an 'ickzapo' {example} and then the problems with a, "Now you do it!"
Being able to take my dog on a walk and wear a tank top. You can't imagine how happy this makes me.
Seeing Heather push her stroller o' kids somewhere, flipflops on feet. Heather + flops = Winter is gone. Its official, yo.
Awkward
Having to hold the PTA meeting tonight with this cold that I caught. I am so not a fan of blowing my nose in public. But I won't make it. And I sound icky.
Maxi dresses. I do love. Target especially has some awesome ones. But when did did this name get slapped onto this fashion? Because I recall wearing dresses of this length in the late 70's. And several different styles scattered throughout the 90's, and they were just "dresses". Yes, I am that old. And I don't like the word "maxi". Sorry. It reminds me of feminine hygiene products.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday
On this sunny, chilly Thursday, I'm linking up with Sydney of The Daybook who, each week, hosts Awkward and Awesome Thursday. If you haven't checked out The Daybook yet, take a gander on over. Sydney is funny, too cute, and has serious fashion sense (best wardrobe I've ever seen on a student, yo.)
Awkward:
*My obsession with watching the trainwreck that is Teen Mom 2.
*Walking around the store yesterday, not realizing that my spanx were causing my pants to slide down and I was inadvertantly exposing said spanx to the store as I was bending over. Woot.
*My hair that is overdue for a trim/style/color.
Awesome:
*Conferences with the teachers when they tell you that your kids rock the hizzy
*Getting emailed love notes from your kids, signed with tons of 'xoxoxox'
*Smitten Kitchen's chocolate stout cake recipe. OH YUM.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday
Giving this a shot.
Awkward:
When you are using a beauty training institute to save money to get your parts waxed in anticipation for vacation (swimsuits), and the instructor and waxing girl are conversing whilst hovering over your lady bits.
Sitting at the vanity bar in the women's locker room at the gym next to a lady who is standing there, applying her makeup, totally nude (not even undies. fo reals).
Answering the phone while you're typing an email. And when the caller asks how you are, you say "thank you", because that's what you were typing b/c you were finishing your email. Whoops.
Awesome:
Scoring some super cool pieces at Anthro that were on sale (and for the record, I don't think their sale prices are all that), including a cute dress that I can wear on vacation, wear to a wedding this summer, and wear layered with leggings and a cardi. Yay!
Listening to your 7 year olds read to you from books that, just a month or so ago, they struggled to get through or they couldn't even read.
Watching your daughter make a craft and then decide that she wants to give it to her teacher that she adores.
Listening to your kids play the piano.
Having your kids piano teacher thank you for encouraging your eldest child to play and making sure he does all his practice, because he is now a total rockstar at the piano.
So yo...
